Effect of Chronic Apical Periodontitis in Primary Molars on Succedaneous Permanent Teeth: An Observational Retrospective Study

Introduction: Periapical infection of primary molars affects the development permanent teeth (premolars). Therefore, present study was conducted to test null hypothesis in children aged 4-10 years with chronic apical periodontitis (CAP) molars. Materials and methods: A retrospective, cross-sectional on 185 panoramic radiographs healthy CAP total 256 infected (144 females, 112 males) were analyzed, radiographically, compared 245 contralateral side. Permanent successors evaluated for follicular damage, maturation, morphology, deviation eruption path. Primary root resorption. Sixteen affected side five control excluded due abnormal development. Student’s t-test chi-square used analyze data. Results: The is rejected. There significant differences developmental status side, normal at four seven (p<0.05). no sex abnormalities (p>0.05).
